Mindful Eating Program (MB – EAT)

Mindfulness-Based Eating Awareness Training Program (MB-EAT)

Mindfulness for Healthy Eating and Well-Being

Have you ever felt that eating is more of a source of stress than pleasure?

You’re not alone. Many of us navigate complex emotions around food, often triggered by challenging emotions or stressful situations.

Frequently, our quest for solutions leads us to seek advice from others. While gaining insights from external sources is valuable, we often overlook the powerful answers that lie within us.

Rediscover the Joy of Eating

Imagine transforming your relationship with food into a celebration of joy, nourishment, and balance. Engaging with mindfulness practices allows us to connect or rekindle our relationship with our body’s wisdom. It empowers us to listen to our body’s cues in the present moment, free from judgment, criticism, or preconceived notions of how things should be. Utilizing mindfulness when eating opens the door to recognizing unhealthy eating habits and their triggers, thus enhancing our quality of life.

Program Structure

The MB-EAT is a 10-week program (2 h/session) open to all levels of mindfulness practice (previous meditation experience is not necessary). It includes two additional follow-up classes after the final session to support and evaluate continuous practice. Participants will engage in guided mindfulness meditations, apply mindfulness techniques to eating, and participate in exercises and activities designed to deepen their understanding of the relationship between food, their body, and themselves.

The program also provides opportunities for questions, self-reflection, and sharing experiences.

 Program Aim

Our goal with mindful eating practices is to cultivate a healthier and more balanced relationship with food and eating by promoting flexible eating behaviors and avoiding unsustainable restrictive habits.

The program focuses on enhancing participants’ awareness of hunger and satiety signals, promoting eating in response to physical needs over emotional triggers, and cultivating a deeper appreciation for the sensory pleasures of eating.

Outcomes

By the end of this program, participants will have learned strategies that will help you:

  • Develop a healthier relationship with yourself and with food
  • Regulate the different triggers that lead you to over-eat
  • Integrate knowledge about nutritional food values, exercise, and body wisdom to achieve a balanced diet and healthy weight
  • Feel comfortable eating all types of foods, freeing yourself from calory anxiety
  • Establish a new, flexible, healthier, and more sustainable mindset regarding nutritional patterns
  • Identify what, when, and how much food your body needs to stay fit and healthy

Suitability

Our program is tailored for anyone looking to transform their eating habits and foster a healthier relationship with their body. It has shown effectiveness in mitigating stress-related eating and positively impacting individuals with various dysfunctional eating patterns and obesity.

Whether you’re dealing with stress-related eating, striving for balance, or simply want to fully enjoy food, this training is designed for you.

The methodology used during the MB-EAT program is not a clinical intervention or therapy and as such is not provided to replace medical procedures intended to treat eating disorders. In case of doubt, we encourage you to consult with your primary care physician to ensure this program aligns with your needs.

You can also contact us directly, before registering for the course if you wish to discuss whether the program is right for you and ensure your well-being throughout the training.

Your health and safety are our top priorities.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
