This agreement sets forth the expectations and standards that both client and coach expect during the coaching relationship. Policies and expectations are outlined below.
The Relationship between Client and Coach
The coach operates from a particular coaching model designed to allow for the client’s personal growth and transformational change to move the client toward their stated goals. Through the process of coaching clients deepen learning, improve performance, and enhance their quality of life.
The Coaching Process and Accountabilities
The coaching process is focused on the present and future, not the past. The coaching process helps the client focus on and systematically explore specific concerns and opportunities that are central to agreed-upon goals. The coach will assist the client in following through on their commitments made during the previous sessions by positively confronting the client with the fact that he/she did and did not make agreed-upon actions, thus keeping the client on track while developing the client’s self-discipline and decision-making skills.
Terms of Service
Services will be provided as determined most effectively by the client’s goals and convenience. This may include a combination of in-person, by phone, Zoom, or small group sessions. Pricing will be agreed upon at the beginning of the relationship.
The coach and the client will determine the best time and frequency of sessions in order to meet agreed-upon goals. If either party is unable to make the scheduled obligation, a 24-hour notification will be expected. If advanced notification is not given (24 hours) the coach reserves the right to bill for the session. The client will initiate the sessions with a 10-minute tardy window.
Cancellation of Appointments
Every effort should be made by both parties to stay on a fixed schedule, but situations will arise that require adjustments. If an appointment is canceled with a 24-hour notice the appointment will be rescheduled as agreed by both client and coach. If appointments are being frequently rescheduled a new agreed upon fixed time slot may be requested. Additional coaching sessions may be added at any time if space is available and at the agreed upon pricing. This is not applicable for workshops and group classes in which rescheduling may not be possible.
Confidentiality / Privacy
The client’s identity, relationship, and content of the sessions are strictly confidential, except in a situation where such confidentially would violate the law or cause harm. The coach will respect the confidentiality of clients’ information, except as otherwise authorized by the client, or as required by law.
EQness accepts payment through Stripe, PayPal, or money transfers. Payment will be due upon receipt of services or invoice. The coach reserves the right to re-price fees if there are material adjustments to the initial goals and agreement.
Clients agree and understand that coaching is not a substitute for psychotherapy or medical services. If a situation arises where medical or psychological intervention is needed, the coach is legally and ethically bound to refer the client to a mental health or medical professional.
Conflict of Interest
The coach will avoid conflicts between their interest and those of their clients. If a conflict or the potential of a conflict of interest arises, the issue will be openly disclosed and discussed with the client whereby an agreement will be made in the best interest of the client.
Code of Ethics
The coach is bound to adhere to the Code of Ethics and Standards of Ethical Conduct as defined by the International Coach Federation. The coach agrees to honour all ethical obligations to their coaching clients and colleagues and to the public at large. Included in the code is the pledge to treat people with dignity as independent and equal human beings, and to model these standards with those being coached.
